If you are 18 years old and above, you can sponsor certain relatives and family members to come and live in Canada. In order to do that, you have to be a Canadian citizen yourself or alternatively a permanent resident of Canada. To sponsor a relative as a permanent resident who should be able to support him/her financially, be able to provide basic needs such as food, shelter and clothing. You should also make sure that your relative is not in need of medical care (chronic cases) neither in need of social assistance.
